2. Cork International Choral festival
Founded in 1954, the Cork International Choral Festival is held annually over the five days preceding the first Monday in May. The rebel county welcomes choirs from across the world for a programme of Gala concerts, schools’ concerts, National and International competitions, and world-class performances, as thousands of participants bring the city to life for a celebration of choral music in all its many forms. This is an event not to be missed for music lovers of all ages.

3. Jestfest Comedy and Street Theatre Festival
Wexford’s Comedy and Street Theatre Festival is back in 2016, bigger and better than ever! The spirit of devilish revelry will fill the streets as both Irish and international street jesters, acrobats and contortionists wow with their amazing shows. As night time comes around the finest Irish stand-up comedians will take to the stage in atmospheric venues all over town, and are guaranteed to make you cry with laughter. This is a festival with something for all of the family.

4. Connemara Mussel Festival

The Connemara Mussel Festival is a celebration of the people, food, culture and heritage of north-west Connemara. The festival, on the Wild Atlantic Way, is a feast for the senses for locals and visitors: taste beautifully cooked local produce; see unparalleled views of the magnificent Connemara landscape: hear sounds of music, dancing, talks and theatre; feel the atmosphere and, most of all, enjoy the experience. Over the weekend some of the finest chefs in the country will showcase their culinary skills in a variety of demonstrations. There will also be cookery competitions for amateurs, celebrities and student chefs from GMIT. Give your taste buds an adventure and hop over to Connemara for the weekend, you won’t regret it!
