Customers can pay for parking by texting the parkbytext number, in the same way they would text to donate to a charity. Users don’t need to register an account as the parking charge is conveniently deducted from their phone credit or added to their phone bill.
Using the parkbytext 2Bill service, unregistered and registered users can pay for parking through their mobile phone. The new service was launched in Iarnród Éireann’s Connolly & Heuston Stations (Dublin), Kent Station (Cork) and Ceannt Station (Galway) car park facilities last week. parkbytext 2Bill recorded its most successful day on a Saturday with a 19% of parkbytext customers choosing this new method of payment. The average uptake since launch is 8%.Customers can alternatively pay for parking by registering on the company’s website and pay for their parking by text, app, online or phone.
