12 Spooky things going on around the country this month.
 
If you are getting the train or luas to any of the events below don't forget to pre-book your parking with parkbytext! You can book to the right!



1. The Nightmare Realm
 
Based out in the RDS, this is an extreme walk- through horror event which preys on your deepest fears and nightmares and twists them into a deadly reality. It’s a haunted house for no other and certainly not for the faint of heart. They claim to be ‘Ireland’s most extreme scare attraction, and are masters at creating horror and fear.’ But be warned, because this is not  your typical (boo) haunted house – there are no ghosts and goblins – the  sets and live creatures prey on your darkest fears and bring your nightmares to life.
 
 
 
2. Halloween pumpkin carving Rathwood
 
If you have something more family- friendly in mind after the severe spooking at the nightmare realm, Rathwood park invites you to Join the Rathwood Halloween Pumpkin Train this Halloween for a spooktacular Halloween adventure in Carlow. On this adventure you will be greeted by friendly creatures, witches and a few spooky characters. Hop on the train if you dare to enter the enchanted woods where mysterious creatures live. It is your task to help Gretel travel safely through the enchanted woods to find her way home. If you are brave enough to enter the pumpkin patch in the enchanted woods you can pick your favourite pumpkin and with the help of our friendly witches carve your favourite picture onto it. When your pumpkin is complete, you can take it home.
 
 
 
3. Spooktacular Boo at Dublin Zoo
 

If you want to celebrate Halloween surrounded by wildlife head on over to Dublin Zoo, with creepy arts and crafts, spine-chilling keeper talks and spooky face painting, you won't want to miss out! They invite you to Join them for monster music on the Great Lawn as well as many other festive activities!
 
 
 
4. Haunted Spooktacular in County Meath

 
Are you looking for something exciting this Halloween? Haunted Spooktacular is the experience for you. Step inside your own personal horror movie as you will experience the terrifying Haunted Spooktacular Horror Farm Halloween event at Grove Gardens in Kells, Co Meath.Journey through frightening themed indoor & outdoor areas where your worst nightmares come true and anything can happen.
 
 
5. Pooka Spooka at Causey Farm
 
If you want a fun day out get yourself over to Causey Farm, Co. Meath. Here you and your kids can experience a pumpkin-carving demonstration, traditional games and crafts, scarecrow corn maze, squeeze n Scurry, a hayride, Cage Maze, Limb Throwing, Broomstick Rides, storytelling, a tunnel of Terror and much more! Voted the best Halloween event in Leinster 2015 by the primary times, this is one the kids are sure to love.
 
 
6. Farmaphobia at Causey Farm
 
Farmaphobia is Ireland’s only dedicated Scream Park with 5 amazing and diverse Haunt Experiences which will terrify and push your nerves to the limit. Farmaphobia is held at Causey Farm, north of Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland, just a few miles from the original home of the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain which has become our modern day Halloween. Anything can happen!

 
7. Westport House Events
 
Fireworks Extravaganza  on Sunday of Bank Holiday Weekend, October 27th, at 7pm . Join Westport House for a treat (no tricks promise) with an explosive Fireworks Extravaganza and haunting Halloween dance on the front lawn of Westport House.  Make sure you dress to impress and look scarily good as you could be in with a chance to win some fantastic prizes in the costume competition – adults too!
 
 
 
8. Trick or Treat trail in County Kilkenny- Castlecomer Discovery park
 
Follow the clues on a fun-filled Moody Monster Trick or Treat Trail through a mysterious woodland. Make your way back to the Visitor Centre to receive your trick or treat! What’s it going to be? A lump of our Castlecomer coal or maybe a special treat for the family to share? Dress up in your scariest Halloween costumes for the Trail during Halloween weekend (29-31 October) and you could win a FREE Family Pass (2 adults, 2 children) for an activity of your choice!

 
9. ScaryTales at Malahide Castle
 
This year join Hattie the Malahide Castle Housekeeper for some ghostly castle capers as she prepares for the annual Halloween Party. Hattie will take you on a tour through the castle where strange things have been happening. You’ll need to keep your eyes peeled.You never know who you might meet!!
Party with the Monster Mash Masters in the Visitor Centre afterwards where they will be teaching some scary dance moves! They love little monsters at Malahide Castle so dress up as your favorite one and be in with a chance to win some frighteningly fantastic prizes! This spooky extravaganza takes place from Thursday October 27th – Monday 31st October.
 
 
10. Halloween at Dublinia
 
“Tis widely known that spirits do enter the body through the hair and the way to drive these out is to cut this hair wherever it do appear.”
Just outside Dublin’s medieval market, Thomas O’Brien the bloody Barber Surgeon meets Biddy Deasy who specialises in ‘alternative’ methods of healing! Listen to their stories (and arguments) about life, death and disease in Medieval Dublin.
Staged by Deilg Inis living history theatre company, Creepy Cures and Ridiculous Remedies will revive Medieval life, and death, this Halloween.

Admission:- Normal Dublinia admission rates apply and no booking is required!

 
11. Tayto Park after Dark

Tayto park after dark is back with a vengeance this year and is bigger and better than ever! Will you be able to handle it?  With new scares for 2016 as well as a night Ride on The Cú Chulainn Coaster, Air Race, Rotator, Windstar & Endeavour,
the 5D Horror Movie, and the terrifying House of Horrors – you may not come out of this one alive!
 
October 22nd, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st from 6.00pm - 9.00pm
 
Price €20 per person.
 
Pre-booking is essential, last admission 7.30 pm.

 
12. Youghaloween Spooktacular Festival
 
The Youghaloween Spooktacular takes place against the haunting beauty of Youghal - a heritage town steeped in history and a bloody past.
This family fun festival sees zombies, ghosts, witches and all manner of beastly creatures take over the streets for their annual celebration!
The town is transformed with fake graveyards, giant spider's web and witches hovel just some of the attractions for families. A huge variety of free events for families takes place along with ghost stories, the history of the Witch of Youghal (Florence Newton) and Mind, Body, Spirit Market.
Presentations and workshops on tarot cards, fortune telling, angels, religious beliefs, myths, historic subjects and much more will take place at the Mystical Convention
